K9 Field First Aid Training Course

July 30th 2020

We are excited to announce that we just held our first formal GCF Field First Aid Course for Anti Poaching K9s, taught by Dr William Fowlds and his awesome veterinary staff from the Ikhala Veterinary Clinic.

The course covered 16 K9 Handlers, across 6 reserves (Private and National Park). The instructional time for the course was split into 50/50 classroom and practical application.

After the course wrapped up, each reserve was sent home with a fully customized field first aid kit for their working dogs.

Special thanks to Dr William Fowlds, the Ikhala Veterinary Staff, Lalibella Game Reserve for hosting, and our donors who make these specialty courses possible! Photo Credits Jo Haesslich and Natasha, GCF K9 Anti Poaching Units Projects Coordinator.
